Ferns and Spore Plants

Ferns and fern allies do not produce flowers or seeds. They reproduce by spores and often prefer humid, sheltered conditions.

Ferns usually need consistent moisture without stagnant roots. Many dislike direct midday sun, dry indoor air, or hard drying between waterings. Epiphytic ferns need airflow around their roots or mounting material.

Use ferns for shade gardens, bathrooms with natural light, terrariums, woodland planting, cool courtyards, and mounted indoor displays.
