Editorial policy and methodology

What is structured data, what is automated, and what gardeners should verify locally.

Catalogue records

Each plant record is built from controlled fields for botanical identity, mature size, climate, light, water, soil, safety, use, available forms and seed requirements. Invalid vocabulary values fail the site build rather than silently publishing.

Generated guidance

Many care articles are assembled from those plant-specific attributes using maintained editorial templates. Automation improves coverage, but it does not replace local horticultural judgement or confirm that every cultivar has been independently trialled in every Australian region.

Regional recommendations

Postcode and city guidance uses broad climate-zone mappings. Local frost pockets, heat, aspect, rainfall, soil and council or biosecurity rules can change what is suitable at a particular property.

Commercial information

Catalogue prices, forms and availability are planning information until confirmed in a direct quote. Structured product data only advertises an offer when a form is explicitly recorded as in stock with a price.
