Care
- Position: Full sun to part shade with excellent drainage and protection from strong wind.
- Watering: Water-wise once established; avoid waterlogging — Proteaceae resent wet feet.
- Feeding: Use low-phosphorus native fertiliser only; standard fertilisers can be fatal.
- Pruning: Prune hard after flowering, cutting spent blooms back to encourage new growth.
- Planting: Plant into a raised mound or slope to guarantee drainage; mulch lightly.
- Pests & disease: Watch for root rot (Phytophthora) in poorly drained soils.
